Conspiracy Theories, Hiro and Sunsets

Today's entry is in both Indonesian and English. Gak penting.

- Recent medical studies suggests that sitting in front of the computer for the whole day watching youtube and playing supcom is not very healthy. I take heed and thus did not play supcom since yesterday. I did spend a couple of hours on M2TW a few hours ago. Good times. Other than staring (endlessly) at the computer screen (and screaming at the pc, "I AM FREDRICK, THE HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR!!!"), I went to Melbourne and Caulfield to take some photos with my new Ixus. People would call this kind of thing '(photograph) Hunting'. Actually, I don't search aggresively for good shots, I would just sit down and wait for 'that' moment. The left one is a Ferris wheel near Fed Square, the other one is a garden in front of Southgate precinct.

- It was 5 pm by the time I get to Caulfield. The sunset covered up my uber-noob (I.e lame) photography skill. The one on the left is a Monash Uni building, I like the lighting on this one. The other one is a traffic light. Woo. Moving on..

- KFC for lunch and fried tofu for lunner made me feel a bit bloated. Decided to go home. So I took the train to the city. At the Yarra, I couldn't resist the urge to take a quick sunset photo of the city before getting on the tram. Fancy schmancy. Click-click.

- Karena Union house hari ini tutup, gw ga bisa ambil The Age dari union shop. Kayaknya berita-berita yang ada di kepala gw udah mulai outdated gini. Tadi gw buka BBC online, headline newsnya gloomy semua. Mogadishu, child trading crackdown di India, Australi dobel pasukannya di Afghan. Jadi bete bacanya. Tapi kalo lu pikir2, berita tuh harus bikin sensasi. Headline news revolves around what I would call the 4 Bs: Boobs, blings, blood and bombs. And once in a while, the headline would say something like this: "We're fcked". I think this sort of stuff happens every decade or something. You know, the big mass-hysteria phenomena. Y2k, global warming, terrorism, cuban missile crisis, Vietnam war, Gulf war, Boxing day tsunami, watergate scandal, Enron, Invasion of Iraq, madcow disease, AIDS, bird flu, The second gulf war, Israel-Palestine boxing match, Lindsay Lohan going in and out of rehab, bombs, blood, blings and boobs. I love the media. Making a big deal out of everything. Truth is, I think we've been fucked since.. we're here. We're always fcked. Perpetual fck. That's how the media keep us in line, calm and obedient. They (the big brother, 'the man') balance the good news and the bad news, and sometimes let out the big bombs to scare the masses. , said 'the man'. Can you say Minitrue?

- Conspiracy theories aside, I watched 3 episodes of Heroes back to back a few hours ago. Came to the conclusion that I hate Hiro. He has (what I think) the coolest superpower in the series. He can manipulate the space-time continuum. If Ted Sprague (the 'Pyro' guy) decides to throw a ball of fire at him, Hiro can just freeze time and knocked Ted over. Badass. But no, he doesn't get to do the fun stuff. All he ever does is stop time so that he can steal a cheap-ass replica of the supposedly 'focusing' sword. Whatever. Plus, when Hiro does that oh-im-so-cute-hot-american-girls-love-to-go-out-with-me thing, it annoys the hell out of me. How does a guy like him gets all the girls? (well so far, only one.. Charlie). How come I'm not as mojo-ific as Hiro? Must be his broken English. If girls here dig my broken-Indonglish, I'd be Austin Powers by now. Damn you Hiro.

- Here's a fancy video. Death Cab for Cutie made a compilation of fan-made video clip of their music from the new album ('Plans'). It's called 'Directions'. You can find all of it at Youtube. Here's what I think is the most awesomest videos (bad, bad English. Uu, spank me!)

Death Cab For Cutie - Brothers on a Hotel Bed

Death Cab For Cutie - Summer Skin

So, what's up with the deathcab link? Well, I listen to DCFC a lot. Listening to deathcab makes me feel.. I don't know, huge. Like floating 6 feet above the ground. And the feeling I get when writing or taking photos while listening to DCFC, is pretty awesome. So, enjoy.

That's all for today. I'm off to practice my CoH skills for tomorrow's LAN game.
Good morning,
Putra
