Feist, please come to Melbourne!

Oh man, Feist is awesome. You see, here's the thing, I'm a jackass when it comes to music. I'm such a pretentious little bastard that I would only listen to the stuff I know none of my friends are listening to. And, you know, this often leads to moments of frustration when everyone else but you are talking about the latest music.

I know that I don't really listen to the radio, or even bother to ask anyone on what's in these days. I just don't. Heck, I laugh at pop music. The only source of aural orgasm for me is in the internet. I regularly go to a couple of file-supermarket blogs (aka. free music store. psst, don't tell anyone) to check for the latest album that I can rip.

And so, the other day I was looking for Minus The Bear's newest album, but I couldn't find it. What I did find was Feist's The Reminder. And it's good. it's so good, in fact, I gave two of her albums a regular spin in my hard drive. Meaning, I've been listening to these for the last few days. Man, I love Feist. I saw one of her live performances at Youtube. My jaw dropped because she's that cute. And she plays good music. Slow, walk-in-the-rain jazz.

It's nice to take a break from all that head-banging and listening to Thailand hardcore with female lead singers. Hmm.

Do me a favor, listen to Leslie Feist. She plays indie rock with hints of jazz, folk and French pop music.

One other thing, it's interesting that the people who listen to Feist seems to be attractive under-25 females. It's not interesting that this assumption is derived from a quick Friendster search. It's also interesting that Feist seems to be included under the subcategory of indie-rock and jazz and therefore, 'hip' music. Oh my.

I think I should stop listening to Feist and go back to my Minus The Bear albums. Apparently I'm not hip enough to listen to Feist. Damn you all. Damn you all fancy looking vest wearing jazz loving cafe going people. Damn you all to heck.
