This is how I check my uni results:
I go through the same procedures every semester.
Wake up at 9 AM Melbourne time or 6 AM Jakarta time, turn on my computer, go to sis.unimelb.edu.au, click on 'results', type in my student ID and PIN number, rub my eyes, squint my eyes at the computer screen, look at the results and depending on what I actually get, either one of the following two things are to be done.
- If it's good, go back to bed.
- If it's fucked up, go back to bed.
Either way, I win.
My results were fine though. I managed to keep my average in mid H2. So that's good. I went back to bed afterwards.
Personally, I don't believe that it matters. Getting good grades in uni. Not here, anyway. I don't think you need to be academically sound to make it here. But back there in Australia, well, it just serves as some sort of filter during the selection process. Or maybe not. Maybe it doesn't matter at all. What do I know? I was supposed to work this summer, but turns out I have to apply as early as mid-year to get a summer vac work. I didn't know that.
Ask me a year from now if getting a good average in uni matters or not. I will be.. sending applications, like, in late June so I can get a headstart. It's my penultimate year, so there's gonna be that pressure building up.
So uh, I am now a 4th year student. That's .. 2 more years to go then. Great.
