This blog will be one year old by Tuesday. I think it's amazing I've managed to gather enough will to continuously write and update this blog. Even though the frequency of updates have decreased in recent months, irectify is still very much alive.

So, why the name? Why did I choose iRectify, instead of putrasadikin.blogspot.com?

Well, for a bunch of reasons, actually.

Net identity theft is awful. I am NOT putting up my real name on the web. Even on Facebook, I don't really give out my birthday, my address or my mobile number.. and believe me, some people actually does that.

..And because iRectify sounds so badass. If you pronounce iRectify, it's gonna sound like 'erect'. Heheheh. It's very juvenile, I know. But at the time, it seemed like a great idea. Why iRectify? Well, the letter i in front of a word is the equivalent of 1990's dot-com or dot-net, i.e. add the phrase or letter in a word and it'll sound badass.

e.g. iPod, iPhone, iVideo, iCar, iDildo, iChair, iMouse, iPants..

Rectify means 'to correct', 'to straighten out'. I was studying a subject in uni called Photogrammetry. It's when you get to measure stuff using photographs. While an awesome idea, some people don't realize that the photo is not always oriented in the right direction, and so the photo has to be rectified.

Hence, iRectify. It's a word to describe a generic, mass-marketed solution for everything. The 7 Habits book. The chicken soup series. Self-help books. Oprah. Duct-tapes. Religion. Fitness first exercise programs, 2 minute tv dinners, television, love..

It's been a fantastic first year. I've managed to get into enough trouble by writing a couple of blah-controversial entries.. and believe it or not, I've managed to turn a bunch of people into pepen-haters from some of the entries I wrote. It was unintentional, and I apologize.

Sort of-ish.
