"As a group, the supermajors control about 5% of global oil and gas reserves with largest supermajor, ExxonMobil, ranked 14th. Conversely, 95% of global oil and gas reserves are controlled by state owned oil companies, primarily located in the middle east."

So, what do you say will happen if a war over resources breaks out sometime in the next 10 years? What if it will become possible for the supermajors to control more than 5% of global oil and gas reserves? Create the notion that a state has failed (e.g. Afghanistan, Somalia), send in the Marines, take over the government, create tenders to split up the national oil and gas company into equally-sized chunks for the supermajors.

The future is bright. I hope I'll be around long enough to see this happen.
