It's time to come clean. I am here to confess my addiction to binge-texting. If you do not know what binge-texting is, then you're either very normal or just don't care. Binge texting is a term I came up with to describe a long series of text messaging someone, often without end for a day or more.

This may become annoying for the other side. But for the binge-texter, it gives him a feeling of satisfaction and an uplift to his pride. However, for some, binge-texting (or sms yg gak berhenti2 sampe yang dismsin stres abis2an in some parts of the world) has become a favored pastime, for it showcases a person's capability in typing hundreds of characters in less than a minute, and his ability to memorise possibly dozens of weird-ass acronyms, such as anw, which stands for anyway in some parts of the digital world, but for a person such as I, it stands for apa nih wanita, which to be honest, doesn't make any goddamn sense.

Binge-texting is made more accessible through the use of (very) easy-to use handphones. These mobile phones are so easy to use, you often see children less than 5 year old using them. Even though most contain chokable parts. A Nokia phone is a favored tool for most binge texters. Especially those really, really old Nokia phones that doesn't come with touchsreens (tajskrin? apa tuh?).

Therefore, binge texters are most often seen with ancient Nokia phones (from the 90s), and most will wear their favorite 90s outerwear. Even when texting from the comfort of their bedrooms.

How to break free from this ugly, ugly habit:

- Throw away your phone. Hundreds of children in Africa needs them. As does a couple of terrorists for mobile detonation purposes. Don't ask.
- If you use a sim card and you recharge it frequently, don't recharge. Ever.
- Destroy your mobile phone charger.
- Cut off the tip of your fingers.
- Switch to an iPhone. I heard it's damn hard to type a message using that thing.
- Find another person to harass. Preferably someone with the guts to say back to you "STOP TEXTING ME YOU BASTARD"

OR, if you happen to be the harassed side, you can just ignore the endless stream of text asking "LAGI NGAPAIN LO?!" or "HARI INI MAU KEMANA"

In conclusion, some people use binge texting as an excuse for compulsion to press something with their fingers every few minutes (usually seen in Counterstrike veterans, who can't get enough WASD dose anymore), or you know, people who happen to like another person for some apparent bullshit reason.. they binge-text a lot. In that case, just ignore them. They'll eventually find someone else to harass.

Any question?

I once told a friend that I don't like Harry Potter because I think it's boring and too weird for my taste. The next day, he and his friends refuses to talk to me for the whole day. I once told an online-friend that I have a thing for this girl. Word gets around, somehow my hotmail address got hacked, and my MSN screen name was changed to "I-want-to-fuck-(insert girl's name)-real-bad". I went a little crazy for a while after that. Also, one time, a couple of guys caught me jerking off to a photo of Christina Aguilera. Which is not a bad thing, but the jerking off part.. that's pretty bad..

Moral of the story is, gossip kills. It's bad. But it makes you proud. Because at least people know who you are. In a bad way. Ha.

Hmm. Pass the Djarums stuff, please.

Hyaaaaaar

I hate hearing curhats.

Especially the ones that asks the obvious question. Does he like me? Wait, does that mean he wants to get back together? Omg, then, then.. it was real, it was all real! OMG. OMG. IT HAPPENED.

Seriously. Some people are.. dumb. They need affirmation that something good is happening to them, and they do this by nagging about it on and on to everyone they know. If something good happens to you, then rejoice, dammit. Don't have second thoughts. Do not doubt. It's better to temporarily be happy about something, even though you know it wouldn't last. But at least, it's something real.

Ah, fuck all that happy-giddy-happy thing. My balls hurt hearing and thinking and hearing about all this crap. I need a drink. Good day.

Myspace: a place for 'friends', rant #1.

I need a drink. Browsing Friendster and Myspace at the moment you got up from bed is a bad, bad a idea. Imagine, if you will: Neon colored page, embedded photos of a 16 year old teenager getting wasted at a party and a media player churning out the worst music there is. Imagine a stereo playing two music at the same time; Paris Hilton's and pseudo-hardcore music that kids nowadays call 'screamo'. And repeat that for all of Myspace's residents.. then it should start getting to you. You know, the annoyance, the omg-I-feel-like-blowing-up-the-world feeling.

You might ask, if I'm so annoyed, then why in the world AM I BROWSING IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Ok, jeez, don't go all caps on me..

I guess it's because (you saw this coming), Myspace's emo girls are hot. Especially those Thailand emo girls. Brr.

Note that I was looking at the vocalist, which is a girl. But then I remember a conversation with a friend who just got back from Thailand for holidays.

"So uh, where did you stay?"
"Oh, it's this backpacker hotel. Good price. And oh, there's hookers everywhere bro. Friggin' hookers"
"Ok.. hookers. Hot, Thailand girls, I presume?"
"Nah bro. Boys, most of them underage"
*I barfed*

So maybe, maybe, there are no girls in Thailand. So how do they reproduce? I guess they have perfected the art and science of cloning! Yessir, one ladyboy coming up!

Megaloathing swotvac, part 1.

It took me a couple of weeks, but finally I've gotten to know most of the inside-outs of my SLR. I can now go nuts on manual mode, and just play around with the settings. I'm still getting used to the viewfinder though, my eyes are still used to the massive LCD live preview on my Ixus. For some reason, at nights I couldn't get the right depth of field without using autofocus. But now I finally know what the f-number does, and once you know how the d70 works, you know, with the exposure thing and all that mumbo jumbo, it's a piece of cake.

Why the hell am I talking about my SLR?

Oh, that's right. It's swotvac, and I feel like my head is going to explode. I'm trying not to panic here, even though I know I have a 13 hour shift for this week, and that I've been appointed as a coordinator in PPIA, and that maybe I have to brief my new minions, *cough*, team mates, and add to the fact that I haven't been studying effectively.. it makes me want to go, want to go..uhh..

Hmm. Where was I? Oh yeah.. panicking.

AAAAAAAAAAAAA.

AAA I feel like adding something to this entry, the lyrics to this song that I've been listening for the last few days, non-stop and on repeat in my iPod.
We want it all.
They try to stop you from dreaming,
They're there to make your life hell.
Jst try to stop me from dreaming.. believing.

Are you really happy?
Ask yourself this time.

Are you really happy with who you are right now?
You said you want it.
You said you need it...
Moneen rocks the 15-year-old part of me. And it hits me on the spot, right here, right now.

Creationists eh?

My head hurts, and for a very good reason.

http://www.abc.net.au/canberra/stories/s1929428.htm?backyard

Click the link above. It's a news article on the opening of Creationist museum in the US. Creationists are anyone who believes that the world is created 6000 years ago in (just) 6 days. And that we are descendants of Adam and Eve, et cetera et cetera. The opening of this museum has sparked harsh critics from scientists and secular Christians. As it says in the article:

Museums are meant to stimulate thought, discussion and debate and a new museum, opening in the United States, is hoping to challenge and provoke the modern mindset.

The Creation Museum in Kentucky has been established to offer a different historical perspective to the theory of evolution and its creators (no pun intended) say it will offer a new way of looking at where we came from.

As I read through the article (I read this on The Age beforehand), my head was starting to hurt. In fact, it hurts so bad, I wanted to smash it open with a sharp, glassy rock.

Why? Because when you put the story of Noah's flood and the tower of Babel in the same sentence as Geology and Anthropology, that doesn't sound right. And if someone says that there were dinosaurs on Noah's Ark.. Man, my head is starting to hurt again. T-Rexs on Noah's .. Ark. And, you know, if someone says that the Grand Canyon in Colorado is carved in an instant during the Great Flood.. meh. You get the idea. It doesn't make any damn, damn sense.

There are evidences; the stuff we Geologists have been working on for the last century or so, that proves the Earth was created around 4.6 Billion years ago. And it sure as hell wasn't created in 6 days. And you know how fucking long does it take to create the Grand Canyon? It takes millions of years for the rivers in the area to create such brilliant landscape, and it sure wasn't created in one second. Even though I barely passed my Introductory Geology test, it is in my power to say this to all you creationists: What the fuck.

That is not a question, it's more of a statement. There, I stated that.

Is it so hard to accept the fact that we, as as a species, are just a large group of bacteria and single celled organisms living together in symbiosis.. as humans? That, you know, evolves into ape-man and eventually, us?

But hey, whatever floats your boat, right? After all, you are all entitled to your opinions.

If you don't have anything nice to say, please write on the 'complaints' section.

Friendster blows.

Some things can keep you awake at night. For example, I can't get over the fact that there are so many idiots on friendster. I just don't understand why anyone would post photos of them in a position that would attract numerous internet stalkers.

Put it this way, if you put up photos of you in a two-piece, or topless with your sixpack (if you're a guy), surely you would have the common sense to at least set your profile to private right? But no, some people would leave it as it is, and as a result, you get thousands of horny 30 year olds, hunchbacked and drooling in front of their office computers.. and masturbating to your photos.

This scares me. Mostly because of the fact that I used to work in an office full of those kind of people. You know what else is wrong about this? It's the fact that a sad, pathetic 12 year old girl in Surabaya that craves for hundreds of online friends in Friendster, could copy the photos of a popular profile and create a 'clone' profile. You know why this disturbs me? It's because most of her friends actually believe that this profile is hers.

I don't think I can run out of things to despise out of online social networking websites. I don't like the fact that I've been stalked by a couple of girls from some obscure little town in Indonesia that I know has no internet connection at all. Fucking disturbing, that. You know what else disturbs me? MSN messenger. What's the deal with saying 'hahaha' or 'hihihi' in MSN. What does it mean? Does it mean that you're actually laughing? And I don't get the fact that there is a social norm to small-talk your way in msn before driving into your main point. I hate small talks. Even in the real world. Please get to the point.

The sad thing is, MSN messenger is the most convenient way to ask your classmates about an assignment. And Friendster? It just pays to have 800 friends. It's called feeding your ego, and when that happens, it feels so good. So good..

Being a smart guy sucks, and heck, you know it.

You know that feeling you get when you wanted to write something witty, but no matter how hard you try, the only thing showing up on the screen is another cliched, pretentious opinion on how we should conserve oil/ how the VSU is killing us students / how we hate the US? I guess it all comes down to how articulate you are in expressing your opinion. But eh, if you don't have anything to say, no matter how articulate you are, the things you write will end up shitty anyway.

I don't like being witty. In fact, I enjoy being a drooling idiot. Think about it, no pressure or anything from the people around you. No expectations. No "Can you help me with this? Can you help me with that? Can you clean my shoes? Can you tie my shoes? Can you do my assignment?". Being smart sucks balls. You're always going to be asked to do things that you don't want to do. The worst part about this is, I know I used to be one of those guys. Man, being a smart guy sucks balls.

It's good though, when hot girls asked you for favors. At least they're talking to you now. Right? Right? But hey, if you smart guys ever fall to that trap, then you're a fucking tool.

Define: Tool

One who lacks the mental capacity to know he is being used. A fool. A cretin. Characterized by low intelligence and/or self-steem.

Ah, low self esteem? Check. A fool? Hmm. This shows that being smart wouldn't give you an advantage in the game of pre-breeding exercises. And no, when someone said "I'm looking for someone clever, witty and with tons of personality <3". They're probably lying. Whack 'em in the head for everytime you hear that. So anyway, being smart sucks. I've heard stories about how the smart ones couldn't move up the management track, and always stuck in the same technical position.

It sucks too being smart at Uni, because it wouldn't matter anyway. I mean, what sort of employee would look at your Uni grades? And would they even care if you get straight HDs from semester one till you graduate? No, they won't. Nobody does.

So here's a tip: Be a dumbass. Go drink a can of beer, kill some brain cells, sniff glue, listen to The Pussycat Dolls and watch Big Brother, Jackass and Borat. All at the same time.

You can thank me later.

Wearing a Country Road bag will not make you look like a stud. Ever.

In a computer lab, you know that the person sitting next to you is a computer lab n00b when: Her phone rang, but she didn't pick it up because she was listening to The Veronicas on her pink iPod nano. Trust me, I heard. Then it rang again. Guess what, she didn't bother to pick it up, because she was too busy listening to the Veronicas. Really, I heard.

So by this time, the whole lab was staring at her, and there she was, oblivious as ever to the fact that her Jamster ringtone is killing everyone in the lab. Eardrums are exploding, and add to the fact that it's the goddamn Veronicas playing through the earphones (yes, we can hear it through her small earphones.. it makes you wonder how loud can an Apple earphone be).. more than half the room had gone through cardiac shock by now. I can recall someone calling 911 and 000 for ambulance and the National Guard to destroy her phone and iPod, but it's too late, it's too late.

Her phone rings again.

But this time she picks it up, and guess what she did? She just looked at it and put it back in her equally huge and obnoxious looking bag. Then as she walked out the room (she actually did leave), her phone rings again.

Speaking of huge and obnoxious looking bag, I have a tendency to laugh at guys with huge Country Road bags. I can't help it. I don't know, I don't know why. Especially if it's a small Asian kid.. with a huge Country Road bag. It doesn't make any sense. And looking at it makes me want to scream and laugh at the same time.

You are not a stud. You're just an Asian kid dressed in such a way that sometimes I get confused whether you're a guy or a half girl or even a girl. Drop the Country Road bag, shave your head, throw your Corona away, drink a pint of Guiness and go listen to some DragonForce.

...A huge bulge in the LCD screen

As the internet at home is still pretty shit, I tend to spend a lot of time at the 24 hr computer lab on campus. I need to use Google Earth for some of my assignments, and I couldn't be bothered to wait 3 hours for the aerial photo of Melbourne to load. Once you've been to the lab as often as I do, you'll get to see a lot of weird things, and a lot of these things will make your blood boil. Ok, maybe not to you, but most of the time, I get this spontaneous reaction everytime I see/hear/smell something that annoys me. It's obvious, right. You see something you don't like, you reached for the keyboard and bang the computer screen with it. Until it breaks apart. Or until you can see a huge bulge in the LCD screen.

Ok, maybe not, because most people aren't that violent anyway. But picture this: I always see the same sort of people in the labs. The loud cougher: This one is usually a girl or an asian guy, or a combination of both, i.e. loud, coughing asian girl with a cough so loud, I'd swear you'll need an earmuff just to prevent your ears from exploding. But the cough itself is not the one that bothers me. It's the fact that they don't bother to cover their mouth when coughing or sneezing or whatever. Some people need to wake up and realise that this is transition-season. The weather's getting shittier as we approach the middle of the year, and sudden change in weather is always expected in Melbourne. What I'm saying is, cover your goddamn mouth before I shove some tissue down your throat. I don't want to get sick again, especially not during this weather.

Jackass.

And I sure am not going to the gym to work out so that my immune level gets to an 'acceptable standard'. Something's wrong with that statement. Did you know that it takes a long, long time and tiring, tiring workload until you can get your body to that level? I actually did some exercise for a couple of months. You know, the usual stuff, treadmill, cardio then do 10 minutes on the weights. But then I got bored. Well, not bored, but more like: "I realised that building my body wouldn't make much of a difference to my appearance, because I'm so short people wouldn't recognize my effort anyway". Some people may recognize that I do exercise/gym/whatever, but mostly it's because they are suck-ups, huge suck-ups, or just plain assholes. e.g. "Look at those guns!" or "Cieh yg nge-gym" or "You've been working out, huh, big guy?".

The next person that calls me 'big guy' will get a swift kick to the balls.

Going to the gym sucks anyway. It's awful for one's self esteem. It's a bit like comparing the size of penises at a men's locker room. I'm not saying that I'm not much of a dude to go to the gym and show my 'guns' or whatever, it's just that I have better things to do. Like doing my assignment, or playing video games, or watching pr0ns. Hey, a man's gotta do what makes him happy, right?

Well, I'm content being a lazy bastard. So bite me.

I actually got my ego boosted this morning when me and the guys at my tute talked about our last assignment. I got a high H3 (Credit in other Uni's), and the others only got a "Oh, barely passed that one!". Man, I feel so huge right now, I think I'm going to gloat about it at a place-that-no-one-goes-to. (read: This blog).

This proves that I'm an acratard (attention craving bastard) and an ego monster. That is a nasty combination, yet most people are ego monster acratard themselves. They just don't want to admit it.

Hmm.

I'm not bitter. But my imaginary friend is.

I have a grudge against many things. So many things. In fact, it's hard to keep track of all of them. Yes, this entry is starting to sound like a typical friendster blog.

You know, the ones that only has 2 entries. The ones where the author realised that he has a life outside of his computer. Most of the times, I don't think this is the case. Maybe they are as pathetic as me, in terms of not having a 'life', or whatever you kids are calling it nowadays. Whatever. Where was I?

Blogs. Friendster blogs. Well, maybe the author has better things to do other than typing shitty blog entries, such as this one. Or maybe, you know, he couldn't come up with anything to write about. Now this is the part that annoys me. If you're bored, why do you write 'Oh, I'm so bored. I have no life. I'm so bored. I don't have any friends. I'm so bored' as a blog entry? Are you doing it so that people will put comments on your blog entries saying things like: "omg me too im so bored lolololol". Also, if you're bored, please don't write about 'what I ate yesterday and where I went with my mom and how I crashed my car or how I'm so depressed I feel the need to write it into a blog entry so people I have not met in ages will type a comment and probably call me because really, I'm such a lonely lonely person and please please give comments on my blog. and please comment on my NEW HAIRCUT and NEW GLASSES LOLOLOLOL..kthxbai!'. Attention craving bastards. Oops. I smell hypocrisy. Oh, sorry. That's just me.

That's right. I'm an attention craving bastard (or Acratard). But at least I admit that I am an Acratard. Come on, eh.

Anyway, you could just write "PLZZ PUT UP COMMENTS PLZZ", and you'll get exactly the same response. Makes no difference. I mean, I would write a comment, but then it would be hypocritical of me. Ah fuck it, this is what I would write:

Nobody cares about what you had for lunch yesterday. Nobody. Not even your Mom. And oh, you will die alone. Jackass.

I've also realised that my English is not very good. But fuck that. Take a look at Borat. He's a friggin legend in English-speaking countries and his English is worse than an Australian sheep. Ok, that was a random statement. But whatever.

I was in the computer lab the other day, queueing in line for a computer. I needed the computer to access Google Earth, because my home internet is so slow, an Indonesian 28K dialup could run circle around it and be done before dinner time. Fascists. So anyway, I needed to use Google Earth to do this assignment, and there was this guy (with a Pure Hard Dance hoodie and pants that looks like its made out of safety vests) using a computer to watch youtube, write comments on Myspace, writing some sort of essay and still manages to tap his foot and bang his head sideways. What a wank. I mean, what's up with those PHD hoodie + safety vest pants combination? It looks like shit. Seriously, it should be banned from Melb Uni. It degrades the rest of us, especially the guys at the Department of Geomatics, because they're using safety vests as pants. I don't know why it's degrading. But whatever. PHD hoodie = the sux. And oh, wtf is up with browsing Myspace on the Education Centre's Computer Lab? Huh? HUH? I need to do my assignment, jackass, so quit jerking off to underage myspace girls and give me my goddamn computer!!!

Meh.
