Chimps

- I read a strange article a couple of days ago about how humans evolved from brain-eating cannibal monkeys. No, I'm serious. Someone actually proposed that theory and wrote it into a book. Basically, the theory goes like this: several million years ago, there was this group of chimps in the jungles of Africa. One of them accidentaly killed another monkey. And accidentally, and by accident I meant curiousity, the monkey ate the other ape-man's brain. And guess what, the monkey liked it. It was then that the band of chimps realised that eating another monkey's brain will increase your brainpower and sexual desire. So what they did, and learnt to do do well, was constant warfare to increase their intelligence and constant reproduction. And thus, the chimps ruled the entire planet by being cannibals and so sexed up all the time. Then they got really2 smart and evolved to human.. i.e. us.

Feel free to laugh, or squirm.

Moral of the story is:
1) Do not take this seriously.
2) The author is seriously wrong in the head.
3) I do not enjoy the prospect of eating someone's brain. I'd rather lick off algae in desperation.

- Sabtu ini, gw ada konser. Konser apa? John F. Mayer. F stands for friggin. But truth be told, I'm not that excited. Gw udah nonton dia beberapa bulan yg lalu. Keren bgt, btw. Walaupun gw waktu itu cuman dapat tempat duduk yang jauhhh banget di belakang, dan karena gw kecil bgt, gw jadi ga bisa keliatan apa2. Tapi worth it bgt, lagu2nya banyak yang diimprov, dan john mayer + gitar = eargasm. Dan ini John Mayer. Lu gak akan expect dia untuk screw up satu not pun.
Sebenernya, expectation inilah yang (kadang2) ngebikin gw agak2 sungkan untuk nonton band yg gw suka. Contohnya, kemarin2 in gw nonton Mars Volta di festival hall. Venuenya bagus, sound systemnya beh mantep abis, terus gw dapet tempat yg pewe abis dan bisa keliatan satu stage (plus, cuman 2 meter dari bandnya). Tapi gw kurang research2 sebelum beli tiket TMV. Ternyata kalau mereka main, cuman 6 lagu yang dimainin, dan konsernya tuh 2 jam. Kalo diitung2, satu lagu berarti 20 menit rata2. Gw inget ada satu lagu yang nyampe 30 menit lebih. Bukannya gw gak suka TMV, gw enjoy bgt dengerin musik mereka di CD, tapi kalo mau jujur, mereka gak konsisten kalau ngejam. Pemain2nya pada gak sinkron, terus suara gitarnya Omar juga gak terlalu kedengeran. Yang bikin gw seneng sih, mereka mainin lagu2 yg gw suka dari album mereka yg baru. Itu juga mainnya lumayan rapih.. kecuali ketika udah masuk bridge dan mulai ngejam, disitu udah mulai ngaco mainnya. Btw, gw megang Cedric (vokalisnya)! Dia waktu itu turun2 ke bawah, dan 'berinteraksi' dengan audience, sampe harus ditarik balik ke panggung ama security guardnya. Keren abis. I even bought a t-shirt.

- Sometimes I still don't get it. What's the deal with emo kids and band t shirts? Don't say I'm a hypocrite because I bought a Mars Volta t-shirt. My reason was (and is), I suck at buying new clothes for myself. Let alone for others. I do not have a sense of fashion, and every so often, I would choose the kistch-est shirt in the store. Then I would wear that shirt to a party, and everyone (espescially the girls) would be like "ih, udah kecil, pakaiannya jelek banget lg.. ich ich ich".

- If it was up to me, I would choose to walk around naked, because choosing what to wear everytime is such a drag. I spent up to 5 minutes every morning just to choose my t-shirt for the day. The problem is, I never looked good in any of them. However, wearing band t-shirts (with a hoodie on) seem to increase my self esteem. Hence, my tradition of buying band t-shirts after every concert. Current favorite is Thursday. It has a cute dove logo on it. Cute. Moving on..

- Spring break starts today. As off this afternoon after I finished my management lecture, I went home straight away (Well, not really, I went to the computer labs. Was trying to start on an assignment due after Easter. But then I lost interest and got fed up with the computer for being really2 slow). I still have a lecture though tomorrow. But I'm trying not to think about it.

- I cannot connect to MSN Messenger, which is a big thumbs down for CS internet.

- I read another article saying that Iran has the biggest military in the world right now, in terms of active military personnel. That's gonna be though if the British decides to pull one of those American-embassy-rescue-operation kind of thing. I don't know what will happen if the coalition invades Iran. Harga minyak naik? Whatever it is, I wish we were back in the cold war, at least back then we knew who the bad guys were.
