To be honest, this poster scares the hell out of me. Do you have any idea how big this is going to be? It's so big, I can't even get my head around it. The Film festival is always on the back of my mind, reminding me that if I screw up, so many people will want to hang me and throw away my remains to a pack of rabid midgets. Not fun.

But seriously, please do come to this event. If you don't, I will be executed. Nah, just kidding. But seriously.

This is redundancy at its best; promoting an event to absolutely noone. And if you even go to this blog, mostly it's because you don't like me, and want to know what sort of shit I've gotten myself into this time. Heh.

Flight of the Conchords - Business Time

"I remove my jeans, but trip over them because I've still got my shoes on.

But then I turn it into a sexy dance. It's Business Time."

Wish I discovered this band a long time ago. Sigh.

Tonight, make me unstoppable, and I will charm, I will slice, I will dazzle them with my wit.

I can't stop listening to this Bloc Party song. The rest of the album is great too. Here's Bloc Party performing The Prayer from their newest album, A Weekend In The City. Ladies and Gentlemen, Bloc Party.

Wait.

Where's the video..?

..

Sorry chaps, turns out I can't copy the embed. I don't know why, it just can't. I guess you have to go here to see the video. Sorry about that. Anyway, Bloc Party rocks.

I guess I'm late by about what, 2 years? Screw off, I'm fashionably late. Hence it's cool to listen to Hendrix in 2007, maybe you weren't there when he jammed on stage back in the 60s, maybe you weren't even born yet, but if you just start listening to him now, you're not a retard, of course not. You're not a retard. Shh. You're not.

You're fashionably late. Aha! There, I have justified why I lag so far behind others in discovering cool music. Take note, I didn't know Feist until a few weeks ago, and I only got in to Panic! In The Disco about a year after everyone else.

And by that time, I was the only one doing the macarena to their songs. Sad. But I was fashioably late. So screw off. Good day.

Feist, please come to Melbourne!

Oh man, Feist is awesome. You see, here's the thing, I'm a jackass when it comes to music. I'm such a pretentious little bastard that I would only listen to the stuff I know none of my friends are listening to. And, you know, this often leads to moments of frustration when everyone else but you are talking about the latest music.

I know that I don't really listen to the radio, or even bother to ask anyone on what's in these days. I just don't. Heck, I laugh at pop music. The only source of aural orgasm for me is in the internet. I regularly go to a couple of file-supermarket blogs (aka. free music store. psst, don't tell anyone) to check for the latest album that I can rip.

And so, the other day I was looking for Minus The Bear's newest album, but I couldn't find it. What I did find was Feist's The Reminder. And it's good. it's so good, in fact, I gave two of her albums a regular spin in my hard drive. Meaning, I've been listening to these for the last few days. Man, I love Feist. I saw one of her live performances at Youtube. My jaw dropped because she's that cute. And she plays good music. Slow, walk-in-the-rain jazz.

It's nice to take a break from all that head-banging and listening to Thailand hardcore with female lead singers. Hmm.

Do me a favor, listen to Leslie Feist. She plays indie rock with hints of jazz, folk and French pop music.

One other thing, it's interesting that the people who listen to Feist seems to be attractive under-25 females. It's not interesting that this assumption is derived from a quick Friendster search. It's also interesting that Feist seems to be included under the subcategory of indie-rock and jazz and therefore, 'hip' music. Oh my.

I think I should stop listening to Feist and go back to my Minus The Bear albums. Apparently I'm not hip enough to listen to Feist. Damn you all. Damn you all fancy looking vest wearing jazz loving cafe going people. Damn you all to heck.

Start angry... End mad.

Meh. I just got back from a 7 hour shift. My body still aches. Ugh. That was pretty intense too, I didn't know Nandos had customers on Sunday evenings. It was hectic. I fixed the boss' computer when his screen went all dodgy on him. I was a hero. I also installed a printer for the shop's computer. I guess I could be the resident techie. Or something. Hmm. So anyway, I'm still pretty burned out after all that. I need to get some rest.

But here's the thing. I just got Heroes episode 21-23. I need, NEED to watch them tonight, if else, I can't study at all for the.. exam. Ah fuck. 40 minutes times 3 = 120 minutes.

I can do it. As Moneen would say in their song: "Don't ever tell Locke what he can't do", "Yes I can". Heck yes.

Man, I love Moneen. I downloaded the rest of their albums.. basically their discography. I feel like such a dirty little boy. But I sure am dirty. Halright.

Hmm. So anyway, Moneen rocks. I just have to tell the world. Here's their videoclip from the song "Start angry... End mad".

I listened to this on the way home. It was soothing, to say the least. Listening to fast, whiny, pop-punk-ish music makes me feel so zen on the inside.

This one is also cool. They were like this when they played live a few days ago. Exactly like this. Intense mofos. This one is called: "Are we really happy with who we are right now?"

Are we?

Are we?

Here's a tip: Don't accept a job offer if you're going on a vacation.

As I sit here in front of the computer screen, typing away obscure queries into Wikipedia, I can't help but to realise that I've been procrastinating my ass off for the last two days. I'm supposed to study for this test on Thursday, and I have an assignment due on Friday. According to my procrastina-brain, I don't need to start preparing for these tasks until.. Wednesday evening.

Which leads me to my next point, I have a ticket for this gig on Wednesday. That's right, I'm going to see Alexisonfire live. AOF is an.. emo.. alternative.. ugh..something band. To think about it, I should've grown out of the genre by now, but I can still enjoy the music.

Well, maybe not really. I'm just there for the headbanging and Dallas Green. Mr. Green is a kickass musician. He has a very smooth voice that can get very annoying when you replay his cd for the twentieth time. He's also quite splendid on the guitar. Here's a link to his cd. Be like me, download music. No, I am not advocating internet piracy. I just hate the industry, that's all.

So I was just having an epiphany back when I was eating subway's. I smell like subway right now. Which could possibly be a turn off for some girls. Anyway, I had this epiphany; I realised that I shouldn't have accepted that job offer at Nandos.

Well, the story goes something like this. I was walking to uni when I passed by a friend. We chat for a while, then he told me that now he work at Nando's. Hmm. And so, as a form of 'basa-basi', I asked him if the manager is looking for new employees, and turns out that Nando's were looking. So I said to my friend "Yeah sure, I'll give you my resume and you can give it to them". A few days later, I went to the job interview, and it seems like the manager didn't like me. So I thought: "I wouldn't get in anyway". None of this ever surfaced back into my mind until the last few days, until my friend told me that I got the job.

All of that, in the previous paragraph:
Bad, bad decision.

Why? Because a couple of weeks ago, I had this plan for a trip to New Zealand this winter. I wanted to take this trip. Mostly because I see this as a chance to practice for my upcoming around-the-world trip (I checked the fares, and it's not as expensive as I thought.. $2000-something sounds really, really reasonable). And also because I've got a couple of guys from my old highschool that's studying there.

If I accept this job, probably I wouldn't have the time to go to NZ. Which would make my winter break reasonably sucky. I wanted to touch the sheeps, dammit!

I wouldn't mind the extra $500/month that I would get from working there though. I could use a new videocard for my PC. But think about it, if I'm working, would I have the time to enjoy what I've earned?

This blows. Also because I realised that I accepted the job partly because I know there's this hot girl that I know of who works there.

Man. I suck.
